Lupus anticoagulant was detected by tissue thromboplastin inhibition test (TTI) in
eleven out of 119 patients of various diseases. The clinical diagnoses of those cases
were systemic lupus erythematosus (4 cases) , thrombosis (cerebral artery 1 case, lower
leg deep vein 3 cases), liver diseases(cirrhosis 1 case, hepatoma 1 case) and acute
rheumatic fever (1 case).
Activated partial thromboplastin time was prolonged in nine patients and TTI time
was significantly prolonged in all of the patients with lupus anticoagulant.
Other serologic abnormalities defected were positive reaction in VDRL(3 cases), direct
Coombs' test(2 cases), antiplatelet antibody test(1 case), anti-ds DNA-antibody test(2
cases), FANA(2 cases), RA factor(1 case) and CRP(7 cases).
